Newcomer bus tour in sunny autumn

Soft chairs, small tables and funny interiours make this bus very special from the inside, but also the appearance of the bus itself […]

Please note that Tuesday 31 October is a bank holiday – we have three special tips for you :) Friday, 27 October 2017: Vernissage “The normal man” (exhibition) What is a normal man? What is even a bog-standard man nowadays, when everybody wants to be unique and special, what we are somehow. What do we mean by “normal“? If a man speaks or we speak about men, does he or we use categories such as success, career or sport, and ignore topics such as paternity, failure or relationships? Which old or current stereotypes have remained? For years the male image […]

Slunečné přivítání ve stověžaté Praze
Welcome to the city of hundred towers Prague

You never know what to expect when planning an excursion in autumn – but as we Germans would say “There will be good weather once you finish your plate!” Definitely we all ate up our first dinner Friday evening at a very typical Czech restaurant “U veverky” close to our hostel. Loads of meat, Czech dumplings and wonderful čaj (Czech tea ;) were put on our tables and filled our empty bellies. Leftover ribs were allocated on other plates – no weather risk was taken. The sun gave us a warm weekend, a tan and 20 smiling faces until Sunday […]

Hiking with Therése

Make hay while the sun shines, especially when it is a warm sunny Sunday in the middle of October. To make most of it, a group of 12 lively internationals followed Therése down the rolling paths of her homeland, the ore mountains. Our hike started at Nassau, a small village in the ore mountains. From here we walked down the gently winding roads, characteristics of the ore mountain, enjoying the green fields. Autumn was at its artistic best and the horizon was made colourful by shades of golden, red and brown on the trees. Conversations flowed easy and jokes were soon being […]

Work contracts or scholarships can end and it is not always possible to extend them.  Many internationals settled down in Dresden, got familiar with the Saxons and would love to stay here […]

Immersing into the world of modern art – Weekend trip to Kassel

It’s raining cats and dogs. This is maybe the best description for the steady rain which happened to follow us throughout the whole trip in Kassel.  Even if “the rain could have been even stronger” – quoting one participant obviously always seeing half of the glass full and not empty – the weather was giving us a hard to time to follow the plans we had for our “summer trip” to Kassel last weekend. But since we are already in the mood of sayings: “We are not made out of sugar” and enjoyed our days regardless. Maybe it was […]
