Do you fancy yummy food and a good movie? Then come to the Thalia cinema on 6 December! We will organize Stollen, cake and cookies, but feel free to bring some finger food from your home country to share with the others. The bar will be open, and be sure about that: they have great coffee! Kids are welcome too, so grab your sweets and sweethearts and come to our cozy Christmas party at Thalia cinema. After all the sugar we will watch the famous winter movie “Tři oříšky pro Popelku” (in English: Three Nuts for Cinderella), which is a Czech version of the famous fairy tale of Cinderella. The film from 1973 has become, much like ‘Dinner for one’, a holiday classic in several European countries, especially in Germany. All Germans just love it, but people from Dresden appreciate it most as it was shot close by. The movie will be shown in Czech language with English subtitles. It took us two years to organize the movie for you, so we proudly present it on 6 December! (There might be a little surprise before the movie, stay curious!)
Optional extension for the afternoon: As this movie was partly filmed on the grounds of Moritzburg castle, we would like to take you there afterwards! There is an exhibition at the castle, showing requisites and background stories of the beloved movie. Tickets for the bus as well as for the exhibition need to be bought on your own expense. The admission for the exhibition is €8 or €4 for students. If you only would like to attend the visit of Moritzburg castle: We will leave for Moritzburg at the bus stop of Dresden Neustadt (in front of the main station). We will take the bus line 356 (direction ‘Moritzburg Markt’) at 4.02 p.m.
When: Sunday, 6 December, 11 a.m. brunch, 1 p.m. movie, 4.02 p.m. bus for Moritzburg castle
Where: Thalia cinema, Görlitzer Straße 6
Costs: 1 € culture fee for the movie, drinks on your own expense
