UPDATE: Due to the bad weather forecast for Thursday, this event is CANCELLED! We hope to have a similar event in the pipeline to announce soon, so please save all your great recipes for later and thank you all for registering so numerously! Apologies for the inconvenience, but we hope you agree it’s better to be safe (and dry) than (wet and) sorry. We’re all very sad to cancel this…  :’-( but we promise to try again! The Welcome Center Team

On the night between 30 April and 1 May Germans celebrate the so-called ‘Walpurgis Night‘. This is the night when witches are reputed to hold a large celebration on the mountain Brocken and await the arrival of spring. In this night bonfires are lit in all parts of Germany. We would like to invite you to our Walpurgis Night celebration and we’re looking forward to sit around the bonfire with you and to enjoy talking to you outside our office building. A student from the TU Dresden will play music that night – it’ll be wonderful! Last year we planned this event for about 35 people, but more than 70 showed up… it became a big thing even though a little unexpected. So, bring out your international friends and family but please register as we would like to plan everything according to the number of attendees.

We’ve planned this event as a potluck dinner and barbecue, where everybody brings some homemade or bought food to share with others. If you would like to eat something grilled, please bring it and we will put in on the barbecue for you. We will provide some pita bread and a hot punch.
We kindly ask you to NOT bring your own drinks for the event. Drinks can and should be bought from the restaurant “Kümmelschänke”. So please don’t forget to bring some money for drinks and some food for the BBQ and to share with others. Thank you!

When: Thursday, 30 April, starting from 7 p.m.
Where: At “Kümmelschänke” in Dresden Omsewitz, Kümmelschänkenweg 2
Cost: drinks on your own expense! :-)
How to get there: The best way to reach the “Kümmelschänke” is by bus no. 80, getting off at the bus terminus “Omsewitz”. Alternatively it is a 12 min walk from tram no. 2, “Schlehenstraße” stop. Find the location and nearby tram stations at the following link: or here:

PLEASE REGISTER via morganize UNTIL MONDAY, 28 APRIL. Registration Link:
