  It’s raining cats and dogs. Thursday, 06 July 2017:  Welcome Center Sommerfest at the River Side Last summer we spent a wonderful international potluck evening with you guys right on campus to celebrate the summer. We would like to repeat this in 2017 and invite you for a potluck evening at the Palaisgarten next close to the Marienbrücke (to have shelter in case of rain). We conquered the river Elbe. Again!

For the third time in a row, international scientists from Dresden CONCEPT e.V. research institutes competed in the annual dragon boat race during the Elbhangfestival in Loschwitz. Also this year, our 21 crew members came from more than 14 nations from all around the globe. Our quest started already 2 weeks before with a first training session. There we learned the basics of how to handle this about 10 meter long ‘dragon’, which is more difficult than expected. In their musical arrangements oriental sounds meet tango rhythm and Armenian dances. Friday, 9 January 2015: Instrumental Trio Cobario Cobario is a one-of-a-kind world music trio from Vienna, Austria. Beginning in 2006 as buskers in Barcelona, Rio Che and El Coba first developed the instrumental acoustic project Cobario around their two powerful guitar styles. Several months later, the extraordinary violinist Herwigos joined their ranks to complete the trio. Their unique style is probably best described as “gypsy classique”. Flamenco, Gypsy, Celtic, Slavic, Asian and contemporary influences all contribute to the unique yet familiar sound, and invite the listener to close their eyes and escape from reality.
