Thursday, 14 April 2016: Friends and Fellow –String Spring Festival (guitar concert)

At the Dresden school of music, Carl Maria von Weber, it became a tradition to give this award to European artists. As the jury members are also well known musicians, they give an opening concert.

Friday, 15 April 2016: Bürgerfest Kreuzkirche

As the choir of the Kreuzkirche is celebrating its 800th anniversary this year, they organise a festival for the people of Dresden. The programme is still a surprise. So enjoy the evening in an historical atmosphere.

Saturday, 16 April 2016: Rapunzel (puppet theatre – family event)

The fairy tale tells the story of a girl which grows up in a tower kidnapped by an evil witch. She will be safed and eventually finds love in the form of a white knight. The story is based on the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, the most famous German romantic story tellers.

Sunday, 17 April 2016: Kruzianian and Composer (classical concert)

A former musician of the Dresden Kreuzchor comes back to this city to play some of his own compositions and famous masterpiece from the past. In connection to the anniversary of the Kreuzchor, Torsten Rasch’s music is played by the Dresden Philharmonie as well as parts of Franz Schubert and Joseph Haydn. So if you are a fan of this kind of music, you shouldn’t miss it.

Monday, 18 April 2016: The Jungle Book (movie in original version)

The man-cub Mowgli flees the jungle after a threat from the tiger Shere Khan. Guided by Bagheera the panther and the bear Baloo, Mowgli embarks on a journey of self-discovery, though he also meets creatures who don’t have his best interests at heart.

Tuesday, 19 April 2016: Artists of the world (dancing performance)

People dance on all continents. It is part of the communication of a culture and also enables foreigners to experience an unknown culture with its depth and variety. Some dancers from the city come together to celebrate this diversity and show some of the different dances of the world. From belly dancing to Indian expressions and Hawaiian Hulu, they show exotic moves from all over the world.

Wednesday, 20 April 2016: TUD Welcome Center Event: Big Day Out (please register a.s.a.p.)

The TUD Welcome Center staff organizes a Big Day Out for all international researchers. We will join you on a short campus tour on foot, then hop into an wonderful historic bus to discover the city and after that will come together at Wenzel Prager Bierstuben in Dresden-Neustadt for a gathering and nice dinner (self-paid). Take the chance to meet us and other international researchers and ask all your questions and to find new friends.
