Wednesday, 01 February: Organ music at Frauenkirche (classical music)
This event is part of the musical cycle organised by the 3 big inner city churches of Dresden – Frauenkirche, Kreuzkirche and Hofkirche. As all 3 churches have very diverse Organs, they decided to create the so called ‘Dresdner Orgelzyklus’ to bring the beauty of their instruments and of classical and liturgical music to a broader audience.
This time, a concert will be hold by a Munich organist called Peter Kofler. He is originally from South Tirol, where he also first discovered his love for this extraordinary instrument. He moved to Munich to study the Organ and classical church music. Besides his affection for the Organ, he is also passionated for Baroque music and compositions from Johann Sebastian Bach. His concert will contain pieces from J.S. Bach, Felix Medelssohn Bartholdy, Franz Liszt and Gabriel Fauré. That seems to be a great list for an relaxing evening.
Beginning: 8 p.m.; Admission: 8 EUR; How to get there: Frauenkirche Dresden, Neumarkt, 01067 Dresden; TRAM 1,2,4 ‘Altmarkt‘ stop.
