Early bird announcement: Bunte Republik Neustadt (street festival) from 16 – 18 June 2017

Since more than 20 years already there is this one big event happening every June in Dresden Neustadt. During one weekend the life is turned upside down and you put your daily life on the street together with your couch. Everyone is on their feet and explores the different bands, which are playing at each corner or on of the many food booths. Also in Alaunpark, there are lots of people gathering and enjoying the nice weather with their friends and families. In the evening, it’s a place to go out and party, but during the day, there are lots of families.

So keep next weekend free for this traditionally crazy and colourful event.

The world-class Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan returns to HELLERAU. During the first part of the dual-act evening White Water / Dust, the company will celebrate eternal life. On the stage, movement, freezes and moments of quiet unfold: lyrical dance in pure, wonderfully fluent movements. The second, contrasting section is conceived as a requiem. In Dust, set to the music of Dmitri Shostakovich, Lin Hwai-min expresses his disappointment at the political suppression, massacres, genocides and devastation of the 21st century.
