Slightly late, due to the holidays, but still an absolutely exclusive tip for all those who couldn’t take part in the last Welcome Center Tour through Friedrichstadt, but are interested in the street art scene of Dresden. Danilo, our tour guide, led us through the whole district and showed us impressive and partly huge murals by the Dresden artist Jens Besser and many other international sprayers. A mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall, ceiling or other permanent surface. A distinguishing characteristic of mural painting is that the architectural elements of the given space are harmoniously incorporated into the picture (But you’ll learn that as soon as you join  the tour yourself! J ). He explained us all possible forms of Street Art and how it, over the years, separated from Urban Art. We discussed the definition of an art that is practiced in urban space and what techniques and possibilities it brings with it.
