For the fourth time we will crew a boat in this year’s dragon boat cup with international researchers who will have an unforgettable challenge on the water. You can be part of an international team in a longboat; at least 6 of our crew must be female to be in the mixed boat category. Two weeks before the official race there will be a short training session. The participation fee covers the training session, the admission for the Elbhangfest (the big 3-day summer festival in Dresden-Loschwitz and adjoining villages along the river, which the Dragon Boat Race is a part of) and of course a T-shirt for you to remember a great time. No fancy canoeing skills are necessary; only bring a positive attitude and basic swimming skills! We are looking forward to a great team event. Please register now until the end of April.

Important facts in a nutshell:

Who can participate?: PhD students and PostDocs only
Registration deadline:  30 April 2018
Payment deadline: 18 May 2018
Training weekend: 09 or 10 June 2018 (Saturday/Sunday: training date will be published in advance, keep both days blocked)
Dragon Boat Cup: 23 + 24 June 2018 (Saturday/Sunday: race date will be published in advance, keep both days blocked)
Participation fee: 6€
Location: Wassersportverein “Am Blauen Wunder”

If you would like to take part send an email with your name, e-mail address, gender, nationality, shirt size (!) and academic status (Phd, Post-doc… ) to young.researchers@mailbox.tu-dresden.de. Please stop by to pay the participation fee at our office during opening hours (Mon-Fri, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.). As it is very important to have a full boat, we would need to overbook. So if you would like to bring colleagues (international or national researchers) who might jump in when someone is indisposed, let us know. We would also need people to cheer us at the shore!
