Friday, 17 April: International short film festival Dresden (until Sunday)

It´s definetily worth it going there!
Versatile ::: international :::  innovative ::: that’s the festival programme at FILMFEST DRESDEN. Every year in April, the festival presents the best short films from around the world in Dresden and attracts around 16,000 visitors, including 400 to 500 accredited guests.

Saturday, 18 April 2015: Tango in der Fabrik

Tango is a standard dance that originally comes from Argentina. Did you ever try? This Saturday the Kino in der Fabrik offers a special Tango workshop followed by a Tango evening with DJ Mona Karaokebar.

Sunday, 19 April 2015: Cinema “Zwezda” in original language, 128 min (Russian)

A young actress full of charming and clumsy spontaneity is dreaming to become a real star. A high-society teacher has her life pending all of the sudden. And her adopted son, 15, tired of the money and the illusion around it. Different characters but their destinies are fairly close.

Are you brave enough to go to the movies without knowing what you´re up to see? From time to time the UFA Kristallpalast Kino offers movies in original language as a sneak preview. The chances are quite high that this movie would be an English one. Try to be a brave heart ;)

Tuesday, 21 April 2015: “Meet me as a stranger” (dance performance)

Searching for a common communication two people meet, also bringing together two different languages of movement: contemporary dance and break dance. The two dancers Andriana Seecker and Axel “Micky” Schiffler are looking for interfaces of these different body practices between symbiotic merge and keeping distance.

Wednesday, 22 April 2015: Love, Friendship and Capital

There is a new exhibition in the Hygienemuseum Dresden about ‘Friendship’ accompanied by some speeches and workshops. This one will be held in English by Prof. Dr. Eva Illouz, Rose Isaac Chair of Sociology & Center for the Study of Rationality, Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

It is a spectacle, a music theatre play and pantomime from Tom Quaas and should work in all languages. Worth trying?
