The most renowned film event on the European outdoor calendar: The European Outdoor Film Tour is heading to more than 300 venues in 14 countries showing inspirational protagonists with an heartfelt passion for adventure and the great outdoors. Throughout the programmes of the last 15 years, we’ve followed one principle: We need no actors, no blue screen, no second takes. Only true adventure. THIS IS REAL.

Friday, 21 July 2017: Grease  (Sing-along movie and party)

Who doesn’t know this movie and the legendary music that came along? Don’t we all want to hear: You’re the one that I want? In the movie, good girl Sandy and greaser Danny fell in love over the summer. When they unexpectedly discover they’re now in the same high school, will they be able to rekindle their romance? The musical about love, friendship and peer pressure comes to the Dresden Filmnächte, in an all new frame. Eventhough the movie will be in German, the songs will be English and you can see the lyrics, so you can sing along. And afterwards you can party like it is 1959.

Saturday, 22 July 2017: Vier Vogel Pils Sommerfest (summer party)

Do you remember our ‘sommerfest’ a couple of weeks ago? Well, this one is not quite like that. Vier Vogel Pils is a local start-up brewery which became a highly successful hipster brand. And now, they invite all their loyal friends and fans to celebrate with them in a summer party. As it is happening in the ‘Altes Wettbüro’ you won’t miss good music and quite some drinks, but you can also buy there some food. So come all and bring your friends.

Sunday, 23 July 2017: Fireworks for the fox by Petterson and Findus (puppet theatre)

A dangerous fox is loose. When Gustavsson wants to shoot the fox, Findus stops him. He wants to rather trick the fox. So Petterson and Findus are developing a firecracker chicken, organise big fireworks and tinker and build all day. When the night arrives, everything is ready. Men and animals are waiting for the fox to arrive and attack the chicken.

Sunday, 23 July 2017: Sunday Open Air (open air music event)

The Postplatz in the heart of our beautiful city is made for great people to gather, especially in summer and if the weather looks like it does this Sunday. People are coming together to spend a lovely ‘electronic’ day and dance under the water arc. As the neighbourhood will be surrounded soon by new residents, it will probably the last time. So save the last dance and join the crowd.

Monday, 24 July 2017: Wettbüro unplugged (unplugged Open Air concert)

The Altes Wettbüro organises unplugged concerts in their lovely garden during the summer months. Old and new bands will be able to perform for their audience, meaning you and your friends. So if you are in for a ‘Feierabendbier’ (after work beer) or any other after work drink with your colleagues, why not having it with nice background music at the Altes Wettbüro?

Tuesday, 25 July 2017: Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg (Wagner opera at the cinema)

Midsummer’s eve, Nuremberg in the 16th century. The story revolves around the real-life cobbler-poet Hans Sachs and the guild of mastersingers – poets and musicians who pursue their craft according to traditions and rules. A goldsmith’s daughter, Eva, and a knight, Walther von Stolzing, fall in love, but Eva’s father has promised her to the winner in the forthcoming song contest. Walther must learn the mastersinger’s art rapidly, under the wise tuition of Sachs (considered Wagner’s most generous and human character) – and despite a challenge from the foolish town clerk Beckmesser. The opera displayed at the Rundkino is brought to you from the Bayreuth Festspiele, but with a little time shift.

Wednesday, 26 July 2017: Regulars Table at Eivissa Café (Welcome Center event)

Do you wonder how all the other international researchers are doing and what they are up to? Or do you just want to spend a relaxing evening with some nice people? Then join our “Stammtisch” (the English word would be regular’s table, but as you are all keen to learn German, let’s stick to the German expression ;)).
