The TU Dresden Welcome Center invites all doctoral students, post-docs and guest researchers having just arrived in Dresden to a very special tour that we will organize twice a year from now on. On Wednesday, 21 October 2015 we will take you for a ride in a historic bus to get to know the campus, the old town, the river and the Neustadt district. Our guide knows the city like the back of his hand and is keen on telling you important facts and some secrets you might not expect from your newly chosen city. Take the ride with us!
We would be happy to also invite your partners, but would like to offer the first places to researchers. When you register, please let us know if you would like to bring your partner and we will try to fit him or her in (subject to capacity). Please register for the tour (and for the dinner if you like) until 10 October 2015 via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Where & when will we start? Please be at the main entrance Zeunerbau, George-Bähr-Straße 3c at 4 p.m. We will start our tour on foot there and will enter the bus a little later close by.
Where & when will we finish? The tour takes us through the city and there might be a little traffic. We plan to end up at the restaurant at Königstraße in Neustadt by 6.30 or 7 p.m.
Any plans for after the tour? Afterwards most of us meet for a dinner at “Wenzel Prager Bierstuben” at Königstr. 1, there was made a reservation for “TU Dresden Welcome Center/Reichert”. You should be able to find our tables. The restaurant has very delicious traditional food and vegetarian dishes as well. Find here more information: http://www.wenzel-bierstuben.de/standorte/dresden/speisekarte-dresden/ Please note: everyone will pay for himself.
What else to keep in mind? This is the first time we booked such a bus and offer this tour, so it is a learning project for us as well. The bus – as it is historic and quite old – will be loud and it might be hard to understand the guide. So try to take the fun point out of it and don´t chat too much on the way ;) Please bring something to drink for your own need.
