Happy New Year, everybody!

The Welcome Center wishes you a good start into the new year!
We are back from our holidays and hope that you also had nice holidays, have made it through the turn of the year well and can now start the new year with new energy and joy.

Tips for the weekend

This week there are some great events at Groove Station! So if you don’t know the Groove Station yet, go there and get to know it! It is located in the north of Dresden, in Neustadt.
Thursdays, for example, there is a weekly table tennis game! Just come by, with or without a ladle and then you can play rounds of table tennis. Most of the time well attended and groovy people!

Also, there’ll be a techno party called Coq Au Vin at the Groove Station on Friday night! With Techno, House and Funk music. So if you want to dance a bit, then come by!

In addition, we have two more party tips for the Saturday night fever:

Saturday 10 pm, there will be a reggae party at Atelier Schwartz.
The Atelier Schwartz is a beautiful place with a party cellar bar downstairs, so even if you don’t like reggae music, it’s worth a visit!

One more recommendation for the fans of electronic music:
Saturday night the “Women of Techno” – night will take place at the Paula. Meaning, a variety of exquisite techno – women will sweeten the party with deep basses!

On Sundays, if the weather is good, you can spend a long walk through the Heide. Have we already recommended the Dresdner Heide to you? The Heide is a large forest right in the city! If you go north towards Hellerau (for example by tram), you can walk directly into the forest from the station. A great place to hike, walk, take the dog out or just to relax!

Tips for the upcoming week

For Monday we have another event from the groove station for you:
A legendary evening is the kicker evening there. Students but also working people come together for kicking the balls. But be careful! There is a ranking, so for the beginners, better start at the front table, because it is getting harder and harder! The entrance is free and it starts at 6 pm!

We would like to introduce you to the language tables in the hostel Mondpalast in Louisenstraße in Dresden Neustadt. Every Thursday there will be language tables where people meet, eat and chat together, and practice foreign languages! So if you would like to learn a new language or deepen your knowledge, or maybe you would like to teach other people something about your languages – or if you just want to get together with people: You are warmly invited.

How about a hot sauna visit to warm up in the cold January days? In the Nordbad Dresden, you can go to the women’s sauna on Mondays, Tuesday morning is men’s sauna and the rest of the week mixed. The sauna is small but nice! There is also a swimming pool but you can also just go swimming if you don’t like saunas that much. We would advise you to go during the day rather than in the evening, as it usually gets a bit busier in the evening.

Do you already know the Panometer and the current exhibition there around Dresden 1945? The Panometer offers a unique view of historical Dresden before and after the allied bombing in 1945. There are als guided tours!
