What’s On In Dresden? (Photo: M. Hultsch)
Happy New Year, everybody!
The Welcome Center wishes you a good start into the new year!
We are back from our holidays and hope that you also had nice holidays, have made it through the turn of the year well and can now start the new year with new energy and joy.
In the meantime, the last Christmas markets have also closed. Maybe you’ve visited one or the other and tested the different Glühweine! Yummy!
Tips for the weekend
Do you feel like an atmospheric indie concert? The New Zealander “Tamaryn” is coming to Dresden this weekend to the Scheune! Go there!
Have we already recommended the Dresdner Heide to you? The Heide is a large forest right in the city! If you go north towards Hellerau (for example by tram), you can walk directly into the forest from the station. A great place to hike, walk, take the dog out or just to relax!
Do you like sports? This weekend are the two matchdays of the Para – Eishockey – Liga in Dresden in Ostra Park! The season starts!
Tips for the upcoming week
We would like to introduce you to the language tables in the hostel Mondpalast in Louisenstraße in Dresden Neustadt. Every Thursday there will be language tables where people meet, eat and chat together, and practice foreign languages! So if you would like to learn a new language or deepen your knowledge, or maybe you would like to teach other people something about your languages – or if you just want to get together with people: You are warmly invited.
How about a hot sauna visit to warm up in the cold January days? In the Nordbad Dresden, you can go to the women’s sauna on Mondays, Tuesday morning is men’s sauna and the rest of the week mixed. The sauna is small but nice! There is also a swimming pool but you can also just go swimming if you don’t like saunas that much. We would advise you to go during the day rather than in the evening, as it usually gets a bit busier in the evening.
Do you already know the Panometer and the current exhibition there around Dresden 1945? The Panometer offers a unique view of historical Dresden before and after the allied bombing in 1945. There are als guided tours!
