Tips for the weekend

Did you already experience the beautiful landscape of famous national park “Sächsische Schweiz” (Saxon Switzerland)? This Saturday might be a good opportunity to go hiking there! Our insider-tip this weekend, regarding the “Sächsische Schweiz”, is something for adventure-seekers and a specificly saxon thing to do: “Boofen“! This weekend the weather will be just fabulous!

You visit the sächische Schweiz and stay there overnight in a half-open cave – your “Boofe”. Find more information and avialable “Boofen” on this website. Plan on some time to find the place and to reach it before sunset. Just always keep in mind: There is an ongoing conflict between the nature conservation authority and the “boof”-community. Take all the stuff you bring into the nature back with you and if you find some waste, that does not belong there just take it with you, too. Do respect the nature you visit! And have a nice time outside the city!

In case you are interested in Astrology, you might want to visit a workshop giving you an introduction. The astrologist Lenka was a former tour guide for the Welcome Center and is happy to tell you all she knows.

The next day can be started with a nice brunch (11 a.m.) at the cultural place and houseproject “kukulida” in the Martin-Luther-Str. 1. This sunday will be Cine|sunday!
All day long film documentaries are shown e.g. during and after the brunch the movie “Moldovan Miracle” (Documentary, Norway 2017, Stian Indrevoll) starts at 1 pm in original version with English subtitles. Following up are discussions. No worries: The kukulida is an English-friendly place, besides entrance being free!
