Tips for the weekend

This year the Umundu-Festival celebrates its 10ths aniversary in Dresden. After the last years topics “Utopia”, “Rich and Poor” and “Our Urban Future” there are right now various activities around plants and sustainability, ranging from workshops on creative baking to movies (original language) and theater. Find the full programm on the website.

This weekend it might be raining a lot – which is pretty much Germany in autuum!
So let’s find some acitivities inside, e.g. did you know that Dresden has three bouldering halls? From north to south the Mandala, Bouldercity and Kletterarena.
Or did you see all the museums Dresden is famous for already? The “Old Masters“? Our special tip for this weekend is the Museum of Hygiene, as the current exhibition “Of Plants and Humans” is originated in cooperation with the Umundu-Festival.

If you are more a “gemütliche” (cozy) type of person this time of the year is perfect for you, too. Make yourself a cup of tee and prepare for the cuddly season.
In autuum it is fully legitimate to hang around a little bit and reflect on the eventfull summer!

Tips for the week

Starting on Monday and taking place all over this plus half the next week, we can warmly reccommend KRETA!
Well, not the island in Greece, where sun is shining and weather is mild even in fall. But the yearly happening Critical Introductory Days. Here you can really meet and connect with people interested in critical thinking.
Designed to enable newcommers an easy access to socially critical topics and political work in Dresden, KRETA brings together the existing structures with an interested audience.

The events are just as divers as the political scene in Dresden: On Monday a bicycle trip through Dresden starts at 3:30 p.m. On Tuesday you can join the postcolonial city walk around the same time. Wednesday and Thursday even have four exciting events a day! And we could even fill the tips for the next weekend with the events to come.
Have a look on the KRETA website and enjoy your week!
